Nursing performance in the care of people with COVID-19 from the Roy Model

Abstract

COVID-19 is an infectious disease with high morbidity and mortality that requires the immediate action of nursing personnel, a profession whose direction is the essence of care, and must be carried out in an integral way from the biological, psychological, family and social inseparable elements to provide quality care. The article aims to describe the performance of nursing staff in the care of people with COVID-19 from the adaptation model of Sister Callista Roy. For the investigation, theoretical methods and document analysis were used. Nursing performance from Roy's model offers the possibility of knowing the different stimuli, manipulating them to achieve adaptation and face the new changes that occur in the environment.
