About the Journal • Focus and Scope • Mission and Vision • Publication Frequency • Journal History Focus and Scope The journal Ciencia y Progreso (Science and Progress) is an international, peer-reviewed, electronic publication in Spanish and English that disseminates multidisciplinary articles. Its main objectives are to showcase current scientific and educational advancements in various fields of knowledge and to foster the exchange of experiences among researchers from different scientific communities. This journal began publication in December 2016 and has been published continuously ever since. The Journal's purposes include: • Promoting discussion and critical thinking in the field of science across different disciplines. • Disseminating original and unpublished national and international articles that contribute to the research areas covered by the journal, from a multidisciplinary perspective. • To respond to the social and business needs that inform the findings of published research. Mission: To contribute to scientific development by disseminating knowledge through high-quality, socially relevant, multidisciplinary publications, paving the way for scientific progress and knowledge appropriation. Vision: To become a leading voice in scientific research in Latin America and a representative showcase of academic productivity serving society. This journal does not charge any publication fees. Ciencia y Progreso also adheres to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Publication Frequency The editorial board of the Ciencia y Progreso journal informs authors that, starting in January 2025, the publication frequency will change from quarterly to continuous. It will adopt a continuous publication system, in a single volume, January-December, with a total of 40 articles per year. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis. History of the Journal The “Raúl Gómez García” University, with the purpose of disseminating scientific work generated in Cuba and around the world, has created the electronic journal “Science and Progress.” This international, academic, and multidisciplinary publication is affiliated with the Scientific and Technical Research Center of the University of Guantánamo in Cuba. Its first issue was published in January 2016. The journal is registered in the National Registry of Serial Publications (Havana, Cuba). RNSP: 2477, Volume III, Folio 2477, December 7, 2018. Registration File. It was registered with ISSN 2707-7098 on February 5, 2020. In May 2020, RECP received the CITMA seal, joining the Certification System for Scientific and Technological Serial Publications under code 2306220. The scientific advisory board is composed of professors holding doctoral degrees; they possess experience in the various fields of knowledge taught in higher education and lead significant research projects. It provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research fosters a greater global exchange of knowledge. The target audience for this publication includes professors, researchers, students, and the general public, both nationally and internationally, interested in the disciplines of education, culture, science and technology, health, and other related fields. The journal Ciencia y Progreso (RCP) was published semi-annually from 2016 to 2020, switched to quarterly publication from 2021 to 2024, and since 2025 has adopted a continuous publication system in a single volume, with a total of 40 articles per year. It accepts submissions on an ongoing basis. Special issues are occasionally published, provided they are duly justified. The journal supports the exchange of knowledge at a global level by making the research published in it openly available and reusable in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
