The Science and Progress collective recommends everyone to continue taking care of themselves and take advantage of the time in research and the practice of physical exercises. In this second issue of the year 2021, an article is published where Brazilian researchers reflect on development policies, their relations with the public-private dichotomy and state regulation in their country. The teaching-learning process occupies an important space with two articles, the first proposes a system of didactic-methodological actions for a theoretical-practical approach to Chemistry in pre-university education and the second offers teaching tasks to improve the dynamics of planning and orientation of independent work in the Agricultural Mechanization subject from the meeting class. Aimed at the preparation of teachers, a system of actions is delivered to develop integrating teaching tasks, considering it as an interactive and developer space in technical subjects of the agricultural specialty. The visual programming language is present through the characterization of the graphical interface of Scratch based on the establishment of relationships between its elements and fundamental potentialities. From the Educational Orientation Discipline, teaching tasks are offered for Professional Orientation towards careers with a military profile. As part of the actions of the Municipal University Centers in their role as advisers in accompanying local governments, several researchers propose a diagnosis on the preparation of the actors in knowledge management from their interaction in the Guantanamo municipality of Yateras, for the balanced attention to the socioeconomic needs of the territory. Of environmental impact, and to validate the universal criterion that forests are natural carbon sinks, a diagnosis on the behavior of urban trees in the center of the city of Guantánamo is exhibited. Next, teaching activities are formulated to promote Martí's anti-imperialism as a paradigm of Latin American cultural identity from the History of America discipline. Related to agroforestry systems and cocoa cultivation in Guantánamo, an investigation is offered where the estimation of carbon capture in the Agroforestry System of Teobroma cacao L., in the municipality of Baracoa, is evaluated as a way to contribute to the maintenance of the biodiversity and decrease in the concentration of atmospheric CO2.
